If you’ve read anything on here that’s recent you’ll know that I’ve started a website related to gambling which already needs some SEO work done so here’s the plan.

First,

I need to toss up a review of a clickbank product related to gambling on the site I’ve already made, a simple blog post will suffice.

Next

I need to write a few articles to toss up on the bigger article directories like Ezinearticles.com which is where the traffic is going to come from.

Then

Since I’m already starting what’s basically a first tier of links for the site for SEO purposes I will then add a second tier of links to these articles, which will serve a couple purposes. It will help the articles rank higher than normal in the search results and it will also help push some extra link juice through to my money site as well. I’ll probably be using Squidoo & other 2.0 sites for this second tier & then I might even go as far as purchasing a couple SEnuke blasts for the 2nd tier links.

That’s the plan anyways, I’ll let you know how it goes later =P

Alright, I had to work tonight so I didn’t have all that much time to get down and dirty but I did manage to get 3 tier 1 links from 3 500-700 word articles I wrote. I want everything that’s tier 1 to be fairly high quality so I will be writing all of it myself.

If you’ve been keeping up with my blog then you’ll have realized that I have been neglecting it a little bit. Now this is due to other projects as well as being lazy but I’ve kicked a couple of those projects to the side & taken on one that I have a little more passion for. This latest project is one related to gambling, I love to gamble & have been involved in that industry for nearly a decade now…feel like I’m aging myself.

Now being an internet marketer I kind of ask myself why I’m willing to compete in a market with so much competition, changing rules, laws, scams and all that crazy stuff. Well I think my answer to that question is that it’s something that I’m passionate about. I’ve taken on so many projects that I just really haven’t cared about & I’ve dumped my priceless time & money into them & then either just let them die off or not finished or sold for a price lower than their actual value because I was sick of them.

I mean with my experience I’m pretty sure I could just go through all the affiliate networks that I’m in, pick some offers & start running some campaigns. Through testing I would eventually find something that is profitable & I’d make some cash. The problem with that is I just hate it, it’s tedious work. I really miss the days when Google was easy to make do what you wanted & I could just make a site, rank it and watch my earnings grow.

Now the problem with being able to do all of that so easily is that I got lazy. I became used to doing the bare minimum & not giving a shit about whether I was actually creating any value or not. That’s something that I really despise as I’ve grown older as well. It’s became much more important to me to provide something of value for people. I mean seriously, what kind of a life is it to live if you’re only worried about the money & not what people are going to take out of the content that you’ve written or products you’ve created.

What I’ve done so far.

I’ve placed a premium theme from the getprofitsfast people on a wordpress platform, written some content & I’m working on a logo. This is something that I will be promoting both offline & online so I’m going to hire someone to do the graphic design for me. Going along with what I’ve been preaching for the past year, brand building is HUGE so the brand image is what I’m looking to create right now.

The overall concept of it is basically going to be like an online magazine, it’s going to take a lot of writing but I have some other people that are authorities on the subjects that the magazine will cover so that should be no problem after I launch it. I’m also thinking about publishing actual physical issues which will probably happen somewhere down the line.

What gets me and has me in question though is that the domain was expired, the only reason I bought it was because it had thousands and thousands of links to it so I knew there would be some kind of traffic value and there was. From everything I’ve known & read as long as the domain was expired there should be relatively little to no SEO impact. So this is still a giant question for me, I did however remove the forwarding & haven’t attempted to do anything else.

Now apart from that I also know that Google recently did some updates, my sites all survived the last updates so I don’t know why anything would be hurting me now but whatever. I’ve overcome changes before and will again but the simple fact that Google is able to giveth & taketh away first page rankings at will is what really puts a HUGE emphasis on the fact that you need to work to build up your brand vs. simply working on getting your sites to rank well.
